Grim Fandango Remastered This is a review of the Vita version of the game.

Grim Fandango
has always been a hard game to recommend.

Not because it’s bad. Oh, no, quite the opposite. This is an exquisite adventure game that has a more inventive setting, more interesting characters, and smarter dialogue than most games released this decade.

You play as Manny Calavera – a travel agent for the Department of Death who helps the recently deceased figure out how they’re going to make the trip across the treacherous land of the dead, to get to the afterlife.

The virtuous can get an express train, while lowlifes and scum bags must walk. But when a sweet girl named Mercedes is forced to walk, Manny decides to chase after her. Cue a four year adventure across the underworld.

It’s a game that mashes up film noir with Mexican folklore, and has characters who are believable, funny, and heartfelt. It’s a truly memorable story, set in a wonderfully creative world.

Wicked World is an upcoming iOS rhythm action adventure with a new spin Wicked World is a rhythm action adventure in which you have to navigate a ball around a sphere in time with the music.

It’s sort of a runner, except you roll, and obstacles are constantly appearing in your path in time with the music.

The visuals are all blocks and neon lighting – exactly what you’d expect from a rhythm game featuring club music.

Wicked World is in development for iOS right now. Check out the trailer above for a look at the game in action.

Test your reactions in Mr. Muscle an endless brick slicer featuring the legendary Czech wrestler Gustav Fristensky Mr. Muscle is a reaction-based weight balancing sim featuring the legendary Czech wrestler, Gustav Fristensky.

While Gustav lifts some enormous weights, you have to chop bricks  that appear on the screen in half.

Each half of the brick then falls into either side of the weights, tipping the balance. Chop unevenly or don’t counter-balance the weights and Gustav could drop them, ending the round.

It has a really pleasing and silly visual aesthetic and the audio really compliments it. Check out the trailer above and you’ll see what I mean.

It looks like it could be a new and addictive take on the one tap genre. Mr. Muscle is headed to the App Store and Google Play on May 14th.

Get stuck into Rival Kingdoms: Age of Ruin's 300-player raids on iOS right now Creator of Samurai Siege, Space Ape Games has now launched its free to play multiplayer RTS Rival Kingdoms: Age of Ruin around the world.

We previously had a look at Rival Kingdoms while it was in soft-launch. So check that out in the video below if you want a quick overview.

The appeal that Space Ape is going for is action over admin. It plays like other games in its genre but is more about getting stuck into fights.

But it also has a fantasy world and lore written by Rhianna Pratchett, who also wrote the recent Tomb Raider reboot.

The story has you discovering the secrets of the Ancients. When you do, you’re able to unleash their explosive powers upon your foes.

Try to keep up with Dither, which is basically Pipe Mania turned up to 11 If you can keep up with dither then I salute you. Heck, you probably deserve some kind of medal.

It’s similar to Pipe Mania, except it has no patience and wants you to move quicker, quicker, quicker.

As with that 1989 puzzle game, dither has you connecting a series of pipes by using randomly generated pipe pieces. You tap to change the direction the piping travels in, using arrows for guidance to the next pipe you need to connect to.

It’s not too bad to start off with, but once you’ve climbed up the vertical void a little it starts to get ridiculous.

Faster, faster, faster: you meander from pipe to pipe, trying to steer your path of pipes between them as best you can.

Cooped Up Who doesn’t want to play a game about launching a depressed looking chick up a series of ropes and branches, avoiding the attentions of demented plucked bird-beasts as you do?

Nobody who matters, that’s who. Nitrome’s latest continues its recent run of simple arcade gems, and while it doesn’t have the spark of Silly Sausage or Magic Touch, it’s still a bonkers, brilliant waste of time.

Twang it

The game sees you twanging ropes to fling a blue bird up the screen. You press and drag to choose your direction and power, then release to fire.

Each platform you bounce onto has a freakish avian guarding it. There are fat ones that waddle towards you, flying ones, and insane bedraggled monstrosities that stalk you until you get them off the screen.
