Wordifly takes the runners-up prize at this year’s Very Big Indie Pitch at Pocket Gamer Connects Bangalore 2016 Monarchy may have grabbed first place at this year’s Very Big Indie Pitch at Pocket Gamer Connects Bangalore, but Wordifly was a close runner-up.

Like moths to a flame

Wordifly is one of those games that’s extremely easy to pick up and play, whilst also being highly addictive.

The premise is simple: you are a firefly who must spell out words and collect stars in order to maintain your upwards flight.

You control Glowee the firefly by tilting your phone or tablet from left to right in order to collect the floating stars, each of which holds a letter that you can use to spell out any word that has more than two letters.

Each word you gain gives you more and more fire in order to fly, with more difficult words granting you more power than shorter ones.

That Selfie Game wins the Big Indie Pitch at Berlin 2016 That Selfie Game snapped its way to the top prize at Pocket Gamer’s Big Indie Pitch Berlin 2016.

Conclusively proving that pouting at your phone’s camera is both inherently desperate and funny, That Selfie Game is all about panicking to pull a silly face against the clock and laughing at the result.

Here’s how I am introduced to the game: a picture of a lady giving it full duck face pops up on my phone screen. I’m told to match the gurning girl’s expression and take a picture.

As I contemplate whether I’m prepared to twist my features to mirror this ghoul in front of a room full of other humans with working eyes, I realise the clock is counting down from five seconds.
